Finalist – NAPCE Awards 2024
Frederika Roberts has been announced as one of five Finalists at the NAPCE Awards 2024, in the "Raising Awareness About Pastoral Care" category.
The NAPCE Awards, now in their 5th year, are a unique opportunity to recognise exceptional achievement in education pastoral care. Entries closed on 19th April. On 11th June, the Finalists across 8 categories were announced, after an independent panel of expert judges scrutinised an unprecedented number of entries. Frederika Roberts is one of five Finalists in the “Raising Awareness About Pastoral Care” category. The winners for each category will be announced at the Grand Presentation evening on 11th October 2024 at the Worcestershire County Cricket Ground.
NAPCE – the National Association for Pastoral Care in Education – was established 42 years ago to create links between professionals in education and all associated organisations that take an interest in the welfare, social and personal education and overall pastoral care of children and adolescents in schools.
Frederika is a PGCE-qualified teacher with classroom teaching experience. Through her work as a wellbeing trainer, speaker, author, lecturer and, more recently, doctoral researcher, she has dedicated the past 10+ years of her professional and academic activities to improving pastoral care.
“I’m honoured to have been selected as a Finalist in these fantastic Awards among so many outstanding individuals and organisations working tirelessly to support the wellbeing of school students”, says Frederika. “Whatever happens, I look forward to celebrating with the other Finalists on 11th October. I’m certain it will be an uplifting and inspiring event!”
Quoted in a NAPCE News post announcing the Finalists, the organisation’s National Chair Phil Jones said “Standards were extremely high this year”, adding “I would like to offer huge congratulations to all who made the finals; with such a large number of nominations of the highest standard, it’s a big achievement in itself.”
