…The feedback from pupils and staff was very positive: Frederika had fully engaged each audience, covering potentially ‘tricky’ material in a sensitive and entertaining manner. The overall judgment by the pupils was that their time had been well-spent and that the presentations had been “useful and fun”.

We look forward to welcoming Frederika Roberts back to Ratcliffe College, so that other pupils may benefit from her work.

A major challenge facing schools in 2016 is to promote pupil well-being. I was therefore immediately interested when one of our Year 13 Media Studies students told me about a contact she had found with somebody who gave a presentation based on ‘Happiness’.

So it was that Frederika Roberts arrived to address our boarding students. The two presentations – to pupils of different ages – were similar, but adapted appropriately to the two audiences. Drawing on her personal experiences, Frederika identified three simple ways in which each person could cope with the inevitable pressures of life and therefore improve their overall happiness.

The feedback from pupils and staff was very positive: Frederika had fully engaged each audience, covering potentially ‘tricky’ material in a sensitive and entertaining manner. The overall judgment by the pupils was that their time had been well-spent and that the presentations had been “useful and fun”.

We look forward to welcoming Frederika Roberts back to Ratcliffe College, so that other pupils may benefit from her work.
